Do I need therapy?

The following are signs that you may be in need of therapy: 1. You’re feeling overwhelmed with life and the challenges you're facing. 2. You're shying away from social situations or having difficulty maintaining relationships. 3. You are sleeping more or less than you think you should. 4. You have thoughts that you just can’t seem to make go away. 5. You experience a sense of hopelessness. 6. Your emotions feel outside of your control. 7. You notice yourself not caring about things that used to be important to you. 8. You experienced something traumatic. 9. You’ve recently lost something/someone important to you. 10. You’re relying on alcohol or other substances to help you cope. 11. You begin acting in secretive ways to hide things from those around you. 12. You are ready to begin a new journey or make a big change in your life.

How often do I come to therapy?

In the acute setting of a hospital, therapy may take place every day. In the outpatient setting, therapy often works best when we meet once a week, especially in the beginning. However, the number of sessions depends on your interests, goals, your history and your ability to work during and between our sessions.

What is your fee structure?

Standard fees are as follows:

  • $350 for each initial diagnostic evaluation

  • $250 per hour

  • $187.50 for 45 mins.

  • $125 for a session <30 min

In addition to scheduled appointments, it is our practice to charge $250 per hour on a prorated basis for other professional services that you may require, such as report writing, telephone conversations that last longer than 15 minutes, attendance at meetings or consultations, which you have requested, or the time required to perform any other service which you may ask of our professionals.

Late or Missed Appointments

Healing Hearts requires 24 hours advanced notice if you are unable to make your appointment. When an appointment is missed without such notice, you will be charged 50% of the full session rate (insurance will not pay for a missed session). If you are late to an appointment, you may be required to self-pay for the portion of your appointment you missed. For example, if you are 15 minutes late to a 45 minute session, your insurance will be charged for a 30 minute session, and you will be required to pay the prorated rate for the missed 15 minutes out-of-pocket.

Do you take insurance?

Healing Hearts therapists are in-network with some insurance companies and out-of-network with others. If you have a health insurance policy, it will usually provide some coverage for mental health treatment. You can request our office to complete a verification of benefits with your insurance company. Ultimately, you are responsible for knowing your coverage and for letting Healing Hearts know if/when your coverage changes.

What if you don't take my insurance?

If a Healing Hearts professional is not a participating provider for your insurance plan, we will supply you with a receipt of payment for services, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that not all insurance companies reimburse for out-of-network providers. If you prefer to use a participating provider, we can attempt to refer you to another provider.

Do you meet in person or via Teleconference?

Healing Hearts therapists prefer to hold in-person sessions whenever possible, but in circumstances in which meeting in person is not possible, Healing Hearts provides telehealth services.

Do you treat adolescents?

Absolutely! Healing Hearts professionals work across the age spectrum. Some therapists may specialize in working with children and adolescents, while others may have a specialty in geriatric therapy. Regardless of your age, we have a therapist for you.
